The “Kentucky Debate for U.S. Senate” is set for 7 to 7:57 p.m. Monday, with a live stream available through WAVE.
Republican U.S. Senate nominee Andy Barr and Democratic nominee Charles Booker will face off in Kentucky’s only U.S. Senate debate on Monday, according to WAVE, the Gray Television station partner that will carry the program.
The debate, titled “The Kentucky Debate for U.S. Senate,” will air commercial-free from 7 to 7:57 p.m. ET on WKYT in Lexington.
WAVE said the discussion will also be streamed live through its WAVE livestream. Viewers who cannot watch on television will be able to follow the debate online for the same 90-minute window.
The matchup is being presented as Kentucky’s sole U.S. Senate debate airing, placing the program at the center of the state’s remaining public televised exchanges between the two candidates.
By airing commercial-free, the broadcast format is designed to reduce interruptions and keep the focus on the candidates’ statements during the allotted time period.
The debate’s location and distribution channels are expected to draw a broad statewide audience, given WKYT’s Lexington base and WAVE’s statewide reach via streaming.
WAVE’s announcement sets the schedule and programming plan for Monday’s debate. The broadcast and livestream are the primary public avenues for the candidates to address Kentucky voters in a direct, scheduled forum for that segment of the campaign.
