Meta is rolling out Meta Startup School in India, a new three-month program aimed at helping early-stage consumer brands accelerate growth using Meta’s advertising and AI-powered tools.

In a statement published Tuesday, Meta said the program is designed for a common bottleneck in early growth: moving beyond initial traction and capital access to build the marketing capabilities, digital execution skills, and platform know-how needed for more durable scaling.

The company framed the effort around digital-first customer acquisition, arguing that for consumer brands at the beginning of growth, success depends not only on funding, but also on learning how to use digital platforms effectively, make informed marketing investments, and build the right capabilities.

Meta said the first cohort will start on September 1, 2026, with support for 200 early-stage consumer brands across different funding stages.

Eligibility rules are fairly specific. Meta said participating businesses should not be directly managed by Meta, and should not be working with an agency. It also said businesses should be at a point where they are beginning to leverage Meta’s platforms to scale revenue.

The program combines structured learning with hands-on support. Meta did not describe the curriculum in detail in the announcement, but it said startups will receive platform education, expert guidance, and tools to develop more effective growth and advertising strategies.

Meta Startup School also connects companies to a wider startup ecosystem. Meta said participating startups will have access to agency partner support via selected experts, as well as to venture capital firms joining the first cohort, including Fireside Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, and V3 Ventures. Meta added that additional venture capital firms are expected to join as the program evolves.

In addition to training, Meta said the program creates an ongoing opportunity for startups to learn from agency partners, industry specialists, and the venture capital network, and that participants will be able to share their experiences and show how they are applying the learnings to their businesses.

While the announcement outlines the program’s goals, it does not disclose funding amounts, any performance-based commitments, or specific deliverables for participating startups. It also does not describe whether Meta’s training will include formal certifications, dedicated account management, or measurable campaign benchmarks, leaving those details to the program page and future updates.

Meta’s next steps will be closely watched on two fronts: which startups are accepted into the first cohort, and how Meta translates “platform education” into concrete improvements in advertising effectiveness and growth outcomes for early-stage consumer brands.

Why It Matters

  • Programs that lower the learning curve for advertising and digital growth can increase the efficiency of spend for early-stage consumer brands, especially when marketing know-how becomes a constraint after initial traction.
  • By tying education and guidance to Meta’s own ad and AI toolset, Meta may deepen customer reliance while creating a pipeline of advertisers that can scale with the company’s platform.
  • Including venture capital and agency partners suggests Meta wants to influence not just how startups advertise, but also how they plan growth and measure impact during a critical early phase.
  • With 200 startups in the first cohort, the initiative could serve as a test case for broader rollout or replication across other markets and segments.
