Mike D, the Beastie Boys co-founder, has announced the release date and details for his debut solo album, "Thank You," with a full-length arrival set for Aug. 28 through Capitol Records. Billboard reported that the project is his first solo album and first new LP since the group’s final album, "Hot Sauce Committee Part 2," released in 2011, after Beastie Boys went on indefinite hiatus following Adam “MCA” Yauch’s death in 2012.

The album announcement also included the release of the lead single "True Colors," described as the project’s percussion-forward first preview. Billboard said the track is inspired by Lee “Scratch” Perry’s style and is intended to come before the August album release.
