One resident of the Midway School Apartments says maintenance and habitability issues raised earlier this year have eased, even as the underlying complaints were described as ongoing for months.
A tenant at Midway Senior Living Apartments in Midway says conditions at her apartment have improved since residents previously raised concerns about maintenance problems, including leaks and mold, and about delayed repairs, according to a report published by LEX18 on Oct. 16, 2026.
The earlier concerns, described as spanning months, centered on habitability issues at the property, where residents said they experienced water intrusion and mold. LEX18 reported that those complaints prompted scrutiny from residents who said the issues were affecting their homes and daily routines.
In the Oct. 16 update, the tenant interviewed by LEX18 said repairs and upkeep have improved and that she is “finally settling back into” her home. She described the changes as a shift from earlier conditions, when she and other residents said problems were not being addressed in time.
The report frames the improvement as coming after a period in which residents raised issues about the condition of their units and the pace of maintenance responses. While the earlier complaints highlighted safety and health concerns tied to moisture and mold, the tenant who spoke to LEX18 said the current environment is more stable and livable than it was earlier in the year.
The LEX18 story does not, in the account provided here, specify the dates when particular repairs were completed, the scope of any remediation work, or whether there were inspections or formal findings by a government agency. As a result, key details about what has been fixed, when, and to what standard were not established in the report excerpt summarized for publication.
For residents in senior and assisted living settings, habitability and timely maintenance can affect health, mobility, and the ability to remain in place without disruption. In that context, tenant descriptions of changing conditions can be consequential for community trust and for decisions about whether residents feel safe remaining in their homes.
The next steps for any further accountability would typically involve documenting maintenance history, confirming remediation outcomes, and determining whether ongoing monitoring is required when moisture-related problems occur. In this case, whether additional verification actions took place was not detailed in the available report summary.
