Fox reports Sen. Eric Schmitt has obtained a Biden-era White House memo outlining an end-of-term plan to expand Temporary Protected Status eligibility

The memo, reported by Fox News, would have broadened Temporary Protected Status (TPS) eligibility to more than 3.1 million noncitizens during the final days of the Biden administration, according to Sen. Eric Schmitt. A White House release this year has separately highlighted the Trump administration’s legal and court path for terminating TPS categories.

Thousands of lightning strikes have helped ignite fresh fires across western Canada, with British Columbia authorities reporting at least 90 active wildfires during a season Prime Minister Mark Carney called among the most intense on record. Fire crews continued battling existing blazes in Ontario as smoke and evacuations remained key public-safety concerns.
