Iran’s deputy foreign minister rejects Trump claim about Strait of Hormuz, citing sovereignty as reports circulate of another ship strike

In comments posted on Aug. 15, Iran’s deputy foreign minister said the Strait of Hormuz “will remain Iranian,” pushing back after President Trump said the waterway would soon become U.S. territory. The dispute comes as shipping-related reports allege another vessel was struck in the region.
