Poorna Jagannathan will recur as Dréa and Lorenzo De Moor will recur as Leo as production begins on Netflix’s comedy series for a second season, the streamer announced.
Netflix has added two recurring cast members to its comedy series “Big Mistakes” as production gets under way for Season 2, according to a release from the streamer published Monday.
Poorna Jagannathan has been cast to recur as Dréa, with Lorenzo De Moor set to recur as Leo. The announcements were made as Netflix moved forward with the next chapter of the series under its Season 2 production schedule, with Netflix also confirming that production has begun.
Netflix did not provide additional character backstories for Dréa or Leo in the announcement. The streamer also did not outline how frequently the characters would appear across the season, beyond describing both actors as recurring cast.
The casting news arrives after Netflix greenlit the show’s second season and began assembling talent for additional storylines. Netflix’s update positioned the new recurring roles as part of the program’s expansion for Season 2 rather than as guest appearances.
For viewers following the show, the additions report that Season 2 will build on the established cast and relationships while introducing additional recurring characters through Dréa and Leo. Netflix typically updates recurring credits closer to the start of principal production and post-production, as schedules firm up.
It was also not immediately clear from the announcement what production location within the United States is being used for Season 2, because the publication that carried the update left the location details truncated in the excerpt available for this report.
Netflix has not yet announced a release date for “Big Mistakes” Season 2. With production now underway, the series will move through the remaining phases of filming and post-production before Netflix sets a premiere window.
The next confirmed public steps for the series will likely come with further casting announcements and, later, promotional updates tied to editing, composition, and marketing timelines once Netflix finalizes an expected launch timeframe for the second season.
