The Grammy-nominated artist performed at an invite-only ESPN and Spotify event on the opening night of the NBA Finals, as the streaming company’s L.A. campus was transformed into a themed viewing and creator experience.
ESPN and Spotify held an invite-only NBA Finals party on June 3 at Spotify’s Los Angeles headquarters, debuting an immersive “House of Legends” concept that combined live viewing, creator programming, and a music performance by Grammy Award-nominated artist Destin Conrad. The event marked opening night of the best-of-seven series, with ESPN and Spotify presenting the gathering as an on-site celebration tied to game coverage.
Conrad’s appearance was billed as a special performance during the festivities, and the party’s programming included live music set segments after the game viewing portion. According to reports on the event, Conrad performed songs including “Party Wit U,” “Bad Bitches,” and “Kissing in Public,” with the performance timed to the night’s NBA Finals schedule.
The “House of Legends” theme also shaped the physical space at Spotify’s L.A. headquarters, which was transformed into a lounge-style viewing environment for attendees. In addition to watching the game, guests participated in on-site activations, including a basketball shooting competition and a custom hat engraving station.
The event also featured creator-focused elements. Live DJ sets were reported from Austin J. Mills, and the creator-led podcast The Club520 went live at halftime. The Club520 episode was hosted by former NBA All-Star Jeff Teague, along with his brother DJ Wells and Bishop “B Hen” Henn, according to the event write-ups.
Reporting on the guest roster described a mix of creators, tastemakers, and fans. Among those named were actor-singer Trevor Jackson and social media influencer and content creator Mariah Linney, described as a former guard for the University of North Carolina’s Charlotte 49ers basketball team.
Details also positioned Conrad as an artist with recent industry recognition. One report described him as a first-time Grammy nominee at the 68th annual ceremony, nominated in the best progressive R&B album category for his debut album “Love …,” and the NBA Finals party performance served as a prominent mainstream-stage moment tied to the partnership between ESPN and Spotify.
Event organizers did not describe any public ticket sales, and the accounts characterized the gathering as an invite-only experience for select attendees. For ESPN and Spotify, the night represented another example of how major media outlets and audio platforms continue to merge sports coverage with live entertainment and in-person brand activations around high-profile league moments.
