Netflix to Feature Billboard Videos From Penske Media’s PMX Network Starting Aug. 3

The streamer announced a new distribution partnership that will bring Billboard and other PMX titles to Netflix subscribers in multiple countries, beginning next month.

Netflix said Tuesday that it will begin featuring music and culture videos from Billboard and sister digital brands as part of a new partnership with Penske Media’s PMX. The videos will roll out on Netflix starting Aug. 3, with availability announced for the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

The agreement will include PMX properties such as Eater, Indiewire, Rolling Stone, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, in addition to Billboard. Netflix said the effort will deliver fan-favorite video content to subscribers through Netflix’s platform experience rather than only through standalone publisher sites.

Billboard’s contributions will include its “24 Hours With” series, which has taken viewers through a day in the life of artists and personalities. Netflix and Billboard’s announcement cited episodes featuring Charli xcx, Travis Scott, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Latto, Grupo Frontera, John Summit, Koe Wetzel and others.

Netflix said the content format will vary, ranging from short videos described as quick hits of about three minutes to episodes that run up to about 20 minutes. The videos are expected to appear on the Netflix home page starting Aug. 3, according to the announcement.

In a statement included with the release, John Derderian, Netflix’s vice president of animation series plus kids and family TV, said members want to keep exploring stories and personalities they follow beyond a single show or film. Netflix said the partnerships are intended to provide more ways for subscribers to continue engaging with that content throughout their day.

Netflix framed the expansion as part of an ongoing effort to go beyond series and films, citing an emphasis on “more ways” for members to experience entertainment that can include live events and other formats. The announcement characterized the new digital-video lineup as spanning areas such as entertainment, food, travel, fashion, design and wellness, reflecting the breadth of the participating publisher network.

Penske Media’s digital brands have increasingly diversified into video, and the new Netflix arrangement is positioned as a distribution outlet for that output. Netflix did not provide pricing changes or specific ad or subscription tiers tied to the new clips in Tuesday’s announcement, focusing instead on where the videos will appear and when they will start.

The rollout is scheduled to begin next month in the listed English-language markets. Viewers in those regions will be able to access the publisher videos through Netflix’s home-page recommendations starting Aug. 3, while the publishers will receive distribution through Netflix’s subscriber base rather than solely through their own direct channels.

Why It Matters

  • Netflix is expanding its content mix beyond traditional series and films by bringing in publisher video programming directly to subscriber navigation through the home page.
  • The Aug. 3 start date means PMX video distribution will shift quickly for subscribers in multiple markets, changing where audiences encounter entertainment and culture clips.
  • The partnership broadens the streaming platform’s relationship with large music and media publishers, potentially reducing friction for fans seeking content tied to ongoing franchises and personalities.
  • For participating brands, Netflix’s subscriber base could alter audience discovery patterns and influence how short and mid-length video is produced and packaged for major platforms.
  • The announced format range suggests Netflix intends to support both brief and longer-form clips within its viewing interface, which can affect how creators plan episode structure.
